Stoptober is coming and here at Vapor Shop Direct we want to help you make the healthy conversion from smoking to vaping. Today I'm going to explain through the parts of vaping to make your first experience simple.
The first thing you need to vape is a kit. Luckily we have hundreds of kits to choose from by some of the top brands in the world.
Kits are mainly made up of 2 parts, the mod and the tank. The mod is the electrical part of the device where the battery is stored. The tank is where the e-liquid is stored. The electricity in the mod heats up the coils in the tank, which then heats the e-liquid and evaporates it, to be inhaled by the user, usually through a mouthpiece.
Vape kits come in all shapes and sizes. There's the simple cigalike, which is shaped like a normal cigarette. This is usually to give you the feel of a regular cigarette. There is also vape pens, which are similar to cigalikes but bigger and better. You can also get pod vapes, which can be smaller and easier to use. For more advanced vapers, there are box mods, which are larger and use more power, usually using external batteries.
There are a few e-liquid types you can get. You can get 10ml liquids for your nicotine (known as TPD liquids). You can also get nicotine salts, which is just flavoured nicotine.
Due to TPD, it is currently illegal to sell nicotine e-liquids above 10ml capacity. To combat this, the vape industry created short fills, larger bottles of e-liquid without nicotine. These can be bought with nic shots so you can add the nicotine to the bottle and get the dosage you want. To get your required strength, you will need to do some calculations, for example:
If you have a 100ml short fill liquid, you just add two 10ml 18mg nic shots to the bottle to make 3mg, since the bottle is 120ml bottle size, the nic shots fill the 20ml space.
If you have a 50ml short fill liquid, you just add one 10ml 18mg nic shot to the bottle to make 3mg, since the short fills come in a 60ml bottle size, the nic shots fill the 10ml space.
If you have a 25ml short fill liquid, you just add half a 10ml 18mg nic shot to the bottle to make 3mg, since the short fills come in a 30ml bottle size, the nic shots fill the 5ml space.
To get the perfect liquid, simply follow these steps.
- Open the short fill and nic salt bottle and remove the nozzle.
- Pour the nic shot into the bottle and refit the nozzle.
- Breath the bottle by squeezing excess air out and letting new air in.
- Close the bottle and shake until it contains hundreds of bubbles.
- Repeat steps 5 and 6.
- Leave it to steep in a dark place for 3 to 6 days while repeating steps 5 and 6 once a day. If you can't wait this long, fill your tank and enjoy.
E-Liquids are generally composed of 3 or 4 ingredients. The flavour, the VG (which gives you the clouds), the PG (which gives you a throat hit) and the nicotine (which can be left out).
