What is E-Liquid?

E-liquid is the fluid that produces the vapor, flavour and nicotine rush you get when you use an e-cig.

Coming in literally hundreds of different flavours and potencies, you can be sure to find the perfect option for you, whether you’re a long-time e-cig user, or someone looking to break away from standard cigarettes and try something healthier and a lot more flavoursome.

You might be finding yourself wondering exactly what goes into your e-liquid, and unlike the cigarette industry, we’ve nothing to hide here!

Most e-liquids only contain four to six simple, food-quality ingredients, and they each serve an important purpose when it comes to producing that perfect e-cig hit.

Here’s the four key ingredients that go into your e-liquid, and what they each do.

The Flavours

Nicotine itself, as well as everything else that goes into e-liquid, is flavourless, which is ideal as a base for creating some truly delicious liquids.

Our e-liquids use only the finest, food-quality flavourings and combinations to produce the best e-liquids. These are the exact same flavourings that are used in many common food products.

You’re not limited when it comes to your choice of flavours, from relaxing, chilled out options like tea and coffee, to traditional tobacco flavours, all the way over to blue raspberry ice cream milkshake. There’s something out there for everyone.

The Vapor

The vapor in the e-fluid is made up of either propylene glycol (PG) or vegetable glycerine (VG). Both of these are high-quality pharmaceutical and food-grade ingredients, with vegetable glycerine being used as a flavourless thickener in a number of foods and drinks.

This is what creates the big clouds of vapor when you’re using the e-cig, as well as producing the important throat hit of flavour. Essentially, these are the diluents that carry the taste and nicotine, as well as producing that satisfying cloud.

The Nicotine

There’s a lot of misconceptions out there about nicotine. Many people think that because nicotine is in cigarettes and cigarettes have been found to be carcinogenic, that means nicotine is too.

This couldn’t be further from the truth, nicotine is no worse for you than coffee or any alcoholic drink. Like most things, it’s toxic in huge doses, but the whole point of e-cig is a controlled, healthier smaller dose.

When it comes to the nicotine content of e-juice, there’s a lot of options in terms of potency, and it’s up to you where you start.

If you were a very heavy smoker before quitting, it could be a good idea to go with a higher percentage nicotine e-liquid. If you’re more of an e-cig hobbyist, it’s probably better to stick with a lower percentage.

But that’s the great thing about vaping, whatever you want and need from your e-liquid, you can find it. We’ve got the best e-liquid range in the country, and we’ll be happy to help you find the perfect flavour and nicotine combination for you.
